Background and Experience

The foundation ‘World Active Youth Of Holland’ is a growing foundation in the Netherlands, which unites youngster who are, or want to be, active in their society in the field of youth and sports. The group aims to learn youngster how to be active in sports, how to be socially active in volunteering initiatives and increase the knowledge of youth in topics they are daily confronted by.

The key topics WAYOH concentrates on are: Ensuring the social intergration of disadvantaged groups and minorities by promoting amateur sports, by increasing active
citizenship and by advocating for inclusion.

Apart from the main activities of our non formal youthgroup, we also focus on other topics that are acute to youth and the local society:
• To help the youth to learn new skills related to entrepreneurship;
• Organizing presentations and workshops for youngsters and youthworkers on the importance of non formal education;
• To facilitate the development of people with fewer opportunities (those facing social, cultural, physical or mental problems).

However, since the non formal youthgroup is still young, we wish to increase our capacity by organizing projects for Erasmus Plus and European Solidarity Corps. It allows us to grow locally and internationally so we can achieve bigger aims on the field of youth.

The organisation does not yet have experience in the area of youthwork or organised activities, because we just started to exist. However, the founder of the organisation is experienced in the field of youthwork, social work, pedagogic work, cultural work, sports and organizing, coordinating and facilitating activities, events and festivals.

The first Erasmus+ projects will be applied in 2024 and we aim to organize our first Eramsus+ projects in 2025.

Our current activities are mainly sending youngsters abroad to Erasmus+ youth exchanges and training courses.
For local activities, since we became a foundation in januari 2023, we organised the first edition of the family friendly beach bbq 'FAM (Food And Music) At The Beach' in the summer of 2023, to bring cultures together for a barbeque and share food and knowledge, with some nice music and sport and game activities.

More local activities are in development and soon to be announced.
